ABIDE: An Introduction
ABIDE: An Introduction introduces people the ABIDE Bible Study Method which contains the following five steps: acclimate, behold, interpret, dwell, and exercise. Each of these steps are designed to build on one another in order to help the reader delight and enjoy a relationship with God.
The first portion of the journal defines each step while providing practical examples of the process. The second portion of the journal introduces genre, the different kinds of writing found in the Bible, along with an eight-week guided study through each genre; law, narrative, poetry, wisdom, prophecy, gospel, epistle, and apocalyptic. By learning about genre and following the guided questions and prompts, the person using this journal will develop a healthy habit of delighting in God through the means of his word.
